What is Space Opera?

I found this video pretty fun to listen to. It made me think of what I like to see in my flavor of space opera.

What Space Opera is to me.

• Larger then Life Situations and Protagonists/Antagonists.
• Character to Character interactions. The Setting may be complex but the characters and their reactions take center stage.
• A Dash of Romance. Might not be a main component.
• Sometimes military sci fi merges into this. But the core of the conflict focuses on the cast.
• Legit Happy Ending *Personal Preference* Since so much stuff is very much dystopia with a Big D in nature nowadays. I miss idealism.
• The Multiverse and/or Universe is a giant playground. Endless Possibility. 
• Space of course. 

I guess that's why I want to find more Superhero Prose books that mix a bit of this into it. I find my tastes are decidedly silver or gold age. Since everyone wants to outdo Watchmen at every instant. Me? I'm here for entertainment. It doesn't have to make literal sense. I have reality for that. Now that I think on it, this series is more a kin to Space Opera then military sci fi. Or rather, it has Mil Sci fi dressing but it has more in common with Superhero tropes then I first thought.

Got a solid 4k words in today on my own book series. Gonna keep writing til the story is finished. The sky is limitless. If you want something sometimes you gotta make it yourself. The only thing I find on kindle that's closest to what I am doing is these series here:

IE Superheros + Space Opera.

So hopefully by the end of 2020, Ill have all 3-6 books ready and covered. 50k words and counting since Mid Nov. 2019. I'm aiming to get all the rough drafts done by my birthday. Let's do this!
