In my humble opinion. Let's get started:
Space Lore
- Arthurian Take on Space Opera.
- Its right up there with Early Weber and Babylon 5. MUCH better then Star Wars. Disney can go ride off into the sunset for all I care.
- You think the protag and her team would be super level anti heroes but that's a lie. Most of them give a damn about what happens to the universe.
- Still going through this trilogy but so far its been a blast. (Pun intended) Can't go wrong with Cosmic Warriors.
- What happens when you mix Star Wars with even more Magic elements.
- A collection of some of the biggest indie hitters in the genre. A mix of Space Opera and Mil Sci fi.
- Golden age and perfect. Want a quick pulpy adventure with planets, star-ships, and ray-guns? Get this.
- Wish Dune had gone in a different direction after the first book? Read this series and find out.
Even with all the books I've put on here, there's so much more out there then Converged Entertainment, we just have to look for it and promote that instead of franchises that need a bullet to the head. Bury them. Mourn for them if you have to then move on.
Part of the reasons I had trouble letting go:
- Sunken Cost Fallacy
- IF I give the decent thing IE Mandolorian, attention, they will course correct for sure!
- Nostalgia
- IF the consumer base complains enough: I work semi retail, most times this does not change a big conglomerate's POV or operational practices. See: DC comics, Marvel, Woke and Broke Storytelling in any medium.
Stop feeding the Zombies and find greener pastures. These franchises arent going to change no matter what we do so why give them time or money anymore? Other then to MST3k the shit out of it. That aspect is tempting. But even with that angle, at the end of rants, try to offer alternatives to converged POS stuff.
Make May Marvelous Space Opera.
