Even that comic, which I hate a good amount of its themes, wheelhouse, ect: The adaptation changes this girl from an absentminded blonde to "fresh and on the ball black whamman!" Plus taking shots from a locked friend's account so that's why I cut the name out but on point. And I'm not a fan of vegeta. But that character is still better than the tired angle of "TEH EVIL SUPERMAN!"
In the comic: Amber is a air headed girl. And not even one he will end up with. He ends up with Eve. Who aborts the first child btw. I got about half way through that series before I just fucking gave up. Period. Looked at the ending and well: If you enjoy that comic, you will get a better ending than Mass Effect 3. Which isn't saying much but at least he will have a wife and kid by the end. Trying to redeem his "OH SHIT ITS A RACE OF TEH EVIL SUPERMANS!"
Meh. Tired of that aspect too. So that's why in my setting only Dexter and Eliza are Superman level. In terms of physicality. And we haven't even gotten to Silver Age inspired crazy yet. (The All-Father's supercharged mastery of Matter Manipulation lets him stand toe to toe with the Twins. But it does exact a price.)

They make the humans so fragile in this setting. Tech and superhero wise. Its why Uplift Protocol has demi proof buildings and escape ways that come with living in a world that has super powered people. A majority of my demis want to protect life. THE VILLAINS are the outliers. The standard Joe B Human is more like Clark Kent. Willing to help.
Imho: They make life super cheap within Invincible and I detest that. So I do hope that people can see Uplift Protocol for everything that Invincible is not: Uplifting Heroics that save people and whole sectors of space. You think I am gonna let Unity keep all those souls? Hell to the no. You will see. Good will Kick Evil's Ass.
Part of the reason I am so pissed? THE WHOLE DAMN BUFFET caters to the GoTs, Watchmens, Gritty Gray Goop "Oh its so much more realistic" mindset. OFFER SOMETHING DIFFERENT PLEASE!
