The Uplift Protocol: Hidden Legacies Interlude The 42nd Century

Interlude: The 42 Century

Why is this part censored? The Curator must know! Since we have our time traveling guest why not ask her?—Interview Notes (Level 5 Time Administration Required.)

Now I see why there is a particular draw to this century. Rather clever, if a bit on the nose there Eliza.—White

As for the audience of the 42nd century, there was a reason this point in time was chosen. Yes, look it up. The Answer to Life. How did that saying go? But it also had to do with displacing the Amarche forward in time. So they could help us in our present. Their future.—Sleeping in Starlight, a memoir of the 23rd century (Vol. 2)

White examined my left arm. In her humanoid shape she was a stately figure clothed within a white robe. A black and gold belt about her waist. My mind was racing. “It's still not over.” She nodded gravely.

            “Thoth.”

The door whooshed open and the Curator bowed. His form blurred to me. Much the last 2 visits. But I knew it was him. The Weave infused within me told me so. I paced about the well-furnished room. “I get it. This stuff is more my era on purpose!”

He grinned, “Indeed. But the Weave wills us in different ways.” He handed me some refreshments. “We Amarche weren’t just sitting idle but you already know that.” He brought up a holo of a room. Along each wall were Markav Collective teleportation beams. Inscirbed with the golden scrawl I was familiar with. He explained, “Once you have recorded your memoirs here, a mix of all Light magic from every major race will transport you back home. The solstice is in 2 more weeks. Plenty of time to record what we need.”

            I replied, “For the future.”

The Curator grimaced. “Correct. Though I still regret how much we had to hide things from you….”

            I waved the apology away.

The battle with Unity was still fresh and painful within my mind.

“Glad you did. Now that I experienced it for myself. Yet we must still prevent Thoth from accessing the Throne. Otherwise, it will have another body to consume and the cycle will start anew!” White wrapped her arms around me. I smiled. The darkness held at bay abit longer. My voice barely above a whisper. “It knew everything. Used everything it could against me. I thought the images were real.”

The Silver sash at my waist flashed images.

            Home. Safe.

            Never Walked Alone.

The bruised part of my soul clung to those words.

White held a part of it in her palm. “A gift beyond all measure Eliza Murphy.”

I inhaled sharply. “The Vigil is only beginning.”

Mathias Odessen intoned, “Be as Shepherds. Watch your flocks. There are still wonders and terrors that dwell within the vastness of this tapestry. Let the Solstice of Unity War be a reminder!”

Trillions watched as the opening ceremonies on Earth, Typha, Bardax, and beyond opened the Arcways. The Path of the Ancients was finally cleansed. All made possible by the ones who came before.

The Curator watched the live feed as well. Knowing that because of what they had done in the past had helped heal the future. The Weave had another reason for pulling Murphy to this place and time. The influence of the Silver Defender was connecting each point along the Path of the Ancients. This time? There would be no sight beyond sight. No J’kua Veil break. The power of Eliza’s new belt flowed through the network. Ensuring that the Weave gave its blessing. Old eyes stared out from that familiar face.

            Eliza had endured much.

It would be worth it in the end. Even if beyond this point, she would never see the great expanse of the 42nd century. No, she would sleep through it. Alongside Lanis. With Black and White. Until they were needed once more. The Curator sighed, “Bring me another 15 holo spheres. We will need to record much of her direct recollection. It will be needed when she arises later.”

His aid asked, “Has the Weave spoken to you, sir?”

“Quite emphatically. The snakes are not yet cleansed from Eden.”

  1. No sight beyond sight? Does the Armanche have the Sword of Omens? Is one of the Murphys part Thundercat?
