This Tag is A Goldmine.

On Twitter: #PublishingPaidMe

I am writing as a hobby and for fun. Later Ill put stuff up on amazon, keeping all of it still on the blog, to generate some fun money. Kinda like a tipping jar. I have my regular job to help my family keep food on the table. In these times I understand that money has to be watched.

In FL, these kinds of pay advances would be just fine. Heck, if you dont want that 5k in advances, Ill take it instead! Some that get 25k to 100k, for an advance? That' sounds wonderful.

Factors that Contribute to Pay Advances:

  • How much do you already have published?
  • How frequently do you put out books? With just one publisher? Are you a mix of trad and indie? Output level is a factor.
  • What Genre are you writing in?
  • Are you a proven commodity? Midlister? King or Sanderson Tier?
  • Non-fiction seems to pay out more in the Trad arena.
  • Romance and other Block Normie stuff seems to be the lion's share.
  • How much is your cut vs the publishing house/editor?
  • Where do you live? How do taxes in that state effect things in payroll or advances.

Just look at all the fun in here:

Skin color and male or female doesn't factor in at all.

What pub house are you soliciting with? Do they have a bigger press/advanced budget? Are they an indie publishing outlet? Are they a midlisting outlet? Trad publishing doesnt have the resources they once did to make JKs or Kings or even Sandersons at the drop of a hat.

The fact that some starting writers in trad pub make more then 5k on their first book is a feat in and of itself.

So instead of watching the news. I am going to scroll along this hashtag to glean even more information on what not to do as a writer. TOR seems to attract a whole lot of "what not to do" types.

Here's the comparison: One is YA romance fantasy blah fest that normie women eat up with a spoon. YA is everywhere. Vs NK's woke Sci-Fi and/or IDentity Allegories that appeals to only a sub sub portion of people.

The More Popular a Genre, the more money/advance you will get for it, the bigger the audience, the more money you will get.

ITS WHY ROMANCE INVADES ALL THE TAGS ON AMAZON! Its that big. YA romance almost as much.

Even this man knows: ITS LONELY 40+ range women. Who give the big bucks for things.
